Day 14
We left Chattanooga, TN this morning at about 6:30 a.m. Met up with a couple of more HRPT participants on the route and hooked up. We traveled through the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. We would have enjoyed stopping and doing a tour, but we were way too early. Check out the pictures.
Again we traveled through some beautiful scenery. Got a little rain so Steve and Seth got a chance to use their new windshield wipers, they worked great!!
Weiss lake was huge and we were wishing we had our Bass boat with us. The fish were calling our name.
We traveled through some very small communities and it was awesome to see the people lining the streets to watch us go by. Wow, it was a Monday, did they take the day off just to see us?
We turned over 79,000 miles on the Speedometer on the Chevelle, really there is only about 4,000 miles on the engine, Still the 1972 Chevelle running gear, etc, can claim 79,000.
Seth had an issue with his carburetor on his 53 Chevy, but with lots of help, he was back on the road in no time at all.
We arrived at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium about 11 a.m. Again lots of cars and of course it was hotter than heck. We spent a couple of hours showing the car and looking around the stadium and off we went to do a couple of errands and check into our hotel for the evening.
