Mammoth Caves, Cave City, KY!!

Steve and I decided to do the Historic Tour at Mammoth Cave today.  Mammoth Cave has over 365 miles of passageways and is over twice as long as any known cave.  We chose the Historic Tour which was 2 miles long and 560 steps.  This tour is moderate so they say.  Steve and I did a good job climbing all the stairs up and down.  There were some interesting obstacles, Tall Man Misery and Fat Man Misery, which meant tall people had to duck or hit their heads and the Fat Man Misery was a very narrow passage.  Mammoth Cave has quite a history, having been established as an attraction in 1816 and becoming a National Park in 1926.  The tour was 2 hours long and the temperature was 54 degrees.  Felt great.

We spent the night at a very nice campground, Cave Country RV Campground, in Cave City.
