Day 18

The last day of the Hot Rod Power Tour.  We started out in Raleigh, NC, again taking back roads to our next and final destination, the zMAx Dragway in Charlotte, NC.

We stopped at the Richard Petty Museum and Garage along the way.  The Museum was interesting and filled with all kinds of memorabilia, including a gun collection that was awesome.

We wound our way through back roads, no issues with the car, and saw 6 States that we have never been to.  If you are a Classic Car owner and have the time, this adventure is definitely a recommendation.  Lots of the people only did a day or two or three so you don't have to commit to the whole 7 days, but if you are going to drive 2500 miles to do the event like we did, why would we not do it all.  We were definitely in for the Long Haul!!  We made lots of new acquaintances, who all thought we were nuts to have traveled from Utah to do this.

After being in TN, KY, AL, GA, SC, and NC, we are actually acclimating to the climate.  Had to cool off with a Blue Raspberry snow cone.  It was really good, but left me with a blue tongue that Steve had to take a picture of.

What is the name of this tree?

Our last night, Hilton in Charlotte

Got word from one of our friends that it is 104 in St. George and I have to tell you, that is reallllllly hot.  Just like walking into a furnace.  Maybe by the time we get home it will be cooler.

Keep reading followers.  The HRPT may be over, but we are still on the road with more adventures to come.
